“Ennova Art Biennale vol.01”

Theme: Multiple Futures – New Perspectives on Life

“This biennial exhibition draws inspiration from the theme of “Boundary,” and is thoughtfully segmented into four thematic areas: “Sound Consciousness,” “Boundary Imagination,” “Sustainability and Environment,” and “Multiple Realities.” Anchored in these concepts, the Biennale extends a warm invitation to approximately 100 artists and collectives, who are recognized for their expansive academic perspectives, progressive zeitgeist, and a rich tapestry of creative approaches, to showcase their works.”

Sound Consciousness

Sound has emerged as a pivotal element in contemporary art, ranging from human-generated sounds—such as voices and bodily noises—to mechanical and digital compositions. From the sounds of nature to the synthetic audio landscapes created by artificial intelligence, these diverse soundscapes provide fertile ground for new forms of artistic expression. By integrating music with performance, kinetic art, and robotics, these works not only captivate visually but also prompt contemplation of the interplay between sound and sensory expansion. Artists explore these auditory dimensions to craft unique experiences that challenge the boundaries of creation and human perception.

Boundary Imagination

Western science has historically progressed through the categorization of objects, deepening our understanding of the world by decoding the significance of each thing, then reconstructing reality based on these insights. In truth, however, boundaries between genres and categories do not exist; everything is interconnected. Creativity flourishes in these liminal spaces, where boundaries dissolve and neighboring disciplines collide, igniting inspiration for new expressions. It is often at these boundaries that groundbreaking innovations and discoveries occur. In this section, we present diverse forms of boundary-defying art, spanning fashion, architecture, photography, design, philosophy, music, and even the senses of taste and touch, all blending seamlessly to offer fresh perspectives.

Sustainability and Environment

The most pressing challenge of our time is the environmental crisis facing our planet. From global warming to the urban environments metaphorically described as “giant trash cans,” from the depletion of water and food resources to severe air pollution, the scope of our environmental issues is vast. In response, many artists have turned their focus toward sustainability. This section showcases works that utilize recycled materials to highlight environmental degradation, draw attention to endangered species, propose models for a circular economy, and offer visions of the Earth’s environmental future. These pieces range from buildings that mirror their natural surroundings to fashion created from sustainable materials, all urging viewers to reflect on their relationship with the environment and the necessity of sustainability.

Multiple Realities

Advances in artificial intelligence and biotechnology are accelerating, with the potential to fundamentally alter human existence. Through genetic engineering, we are on the cusp of creating sustainable bodies, even designing “smart” offspring. Human lifespans may soon extend far beyond what was once imaginable, with artificial intelligence surpassing human intellect and robots acting as our surrogates. In the future, as humanity expands into space, we may evolve into entirely new beings. One day, the world as we know it—centered on human experience—may disappear. What, then, will be the role and meaning of art in such a world? Discussing these technological leaps offers a glimpse into the future of human civilization. It is both the right and the responsibility of today’s individuals to imagine this vast future while remaining grounded in the present, using art as a medium to explore what lies ahead.

About Ennova Art Museum

Ennova Art Museum was established in 2019 by the renowned entrepreneur Wang Yuzhang and is located in Langfang City, the hub of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region. It is a non-profit museum within the comprehensive cultural and artistic community known as the “Silk Road International Arts Exchange Center.” The museum features a futuristic design by Japanese architect Yoshinori Chida, inspired by “flowing clouds,” and has a total construction area exceeding 270,000 square meters. With an exhibition area of 12,000 square meters, it offers multifunctional spaces including art galleries, theaters, and concert halls.

The generative video installation, adapted from Echoes From The Valley of Existence (2024)  reflects the fluidity of reality where multiple states coalesce and diverge in perpetual flux. These visual phenomena serve as portals, revealing the possibilities inherent in every moment and particle, illuminating the convergence of multiple states and timelines in ever-shifting configurations—an experience that mirrors the unseen forces governing the universe.

The immersive soundscape adds another layer, designed to resonate with the human body at a cellular level. Participants are invited to experience quantum vibrations physically through the sound, which becomes a visceral interface between the body and the quantum realm. The soundscape facilitates a physical engagement and connection with the very forces shaping our reality —embodying the entangled relationship between technology and life.
