Going to the Moon 2024
20-23 September 2024
New York City, USA
An interview with luminary Artist Amy Karle is included.
Overview
The Moon Gallery of Human Thought is an ambitious project born from the Museum of Ideas’ mission to capture, preserve, and uplift the insights of some of the most forward-thinking individuals of our time. Curated by Shannon Mullen O’Keefe, this gallery consists of in-depth interviews that explore the power of imagination and critical thinking in shaping our collective future. The exhibition not only offers a reflection of today’s ideas but serves as a beacon of what could be, connecting our present ambitions to the vast possibilities of tomorrow.
“The Capsule Interviews” reveals the beauty of thought itself. By placing these ideas within a lunar time capsule, the project calls attention to the enduring value of imagination and intellect, offering a timeless reflection on the role of ideas in advancing society.
The capsule includes a rich diversity of voices—artists, entrepreneurs, scientists, and more—who were invited to share their insights. Amy Karle, a visionary artist working at the intersection of digital and biological systems, contributed her perspectives on where ideas come from and how technology impacts human evolution and identity. Other notable contributors include Avi Loeb, Harvard professor and astrophysicist; Jane Metcalfe, co-founder of Wired magazine; and Egbert Edelbroek, CEO of SpaceBorn United. Each interview captures the essence of what it means to think, imagine, and create with an eye toward the stars.
Experience the Exhibition
Starting in midsummer 2024, a curated selection of these interviews will be available online, inviting viewers to engage with the ideas that will be preserved on the moon. The project encapsulates not only the thoughts of our time but our aspirations for the future—ideas that, if realized, could profoundly impact humanity’s path forward.
